Musicians with day jobs or even those consumed with tasks to manage their social media and other career steps know that the daytime has enough stressors of its own. Sometimes you want to just listen and have fun. Sometimes you just want to play.

Virginia Schenck – or VA – is a master of nuance – of bringing subtlety and beauty to the music she creates whether she is covering a classic or improvising an original. Her passion is listening – to silence, music, life sounds and finding a way to bring that into her world to create something special and enduring.

Big Murder sounds a little frightening. But if you want to know “Who done it?” you have to look no further than Marcus David, the front man and guitarist for the band, and you’ll find a mastermind of weaving together musical influences to create rocking original tunes.

Flashback Flash’s website kicks off with the following declaration “Flashback Flash is vintage rock for the modern listener. They will make you feel a pleasant nostalgia of something that may not have happened.” At first, it might not be clear what they mean by that, but when they play live, the seemingly contradictory statement immediately makes sense. It is evident that the four guys in Flashback Flash – Alex Chamis (lead vocals, guitar) [Alex C], Casey Dorreity (bass), Josh Brazinski (guitar, vocals), and Alex May (drums) [Alex M] – can ingest a bundle of contradictions and make them their own, allowing for bigger, deeper, more interesting music output.

This is not the first time we will see Peter play. We have seen him play a packed house at the old Roxy and in front of 20,000 people at Music Midtown. So getting to hear him perform in the intimacy of Smith’s Atlanta Room feels like a U2 pop-up show at a Dublin pub.
